I pledged Delta Sigma Theta Inc. solely for the sisterhood bond and to serve the community. There was something special about being a delta, sporting the red Greek-lettered paraphernalia that made me feel like I was somebody, part of the elite. I didn't bother to research my decision on a deeper level because it was all about community service for goodness' sake. What could possibly be wrong with community service?

 

Later in life, I asked myself 2 questions about this organization. First, if this secret society is so good, why is it a secret? Second, when did it become necessary to go through a spiritual ceremony reciting oaths and rituals just to volunteer in the community? Something about that didn't seem normal, probably because it's not normal. These were the red flags that many ignored. A form of spiritual warfare discreetly in disguise.
